Grant Henderson (in House - £175 per day)
Grant has been professionally producing music for over 10 years. His career got a kick start after signing a deal with Blue Amazon's record label Convert records. His 2001 release "Satellite" gained critical acclaim from internationally renowned DJ's John Digweed, Anthony Pappa, Danny Tanaglia & Paul Oakenfold. Although Grant has a lot of experience with electronic music, he has mainly gained a reputation for recording bands across many different genres. He is a rock/pop drummer and has a real ear for drum tuning!!! He has recorded music for film & television (ITV). He has also recorded projects for the Joe Strummer foundation for new music (Strummerville). His attention for detail and tenacious attitude has earned him an excellent reputation as a producer and enabled him to Launch LOOM as a platform for his talent. Steve Whitfield (Guest - £300 per day for unsigned artists)
Steve has worked all over Britain, France, Canada and US in Pro Studios. He worked with The Cure for 6 months on their biggest selling album 'Wish' - featuring the single 'Friday I'm In Love'.
He's also Produced and Engineered with Terrorvision, Shed Seven, The Mission, Black Wire, Yann Tiersen, Trashcan Sinatras, The Pale Saints, Kava Kava, Jonjo Feather, The Black Bloc, Extra Curricular, Immune, The Scaremongers/Simon Armitage, The Dead Pets, Vib Gyor, Buen Chico, Four Day Hombre, Milloy on various albums and singles. In addition he's worked with John Le Carre on a speaking book and lots of dance music/electronica & hip hop artists.
He's workd with labels such as Polydor, Elektra, Geffen, Emi, Fierce Panda, Moon Ska & China Records, Steve is also available to produce/engineer high quality demos.
He also owns a small collection of analog synths:- Korg MS20, Moog Source, Roland SH09 and an Arp Solus. All can be midi'd up via Kenton cv/midi converters.
Whiskas (Guest - £260 per day)
Whiskas has been working with bands and new music for over 10 years, gaining success with his band Forward Russia and record label Dance To The Radio (Pigeon Detectives, The Sunshine Underground). Whiskas has toured the world and worked with Grammy nominated producers in internationally acclaimed studios.
Since Forward Russia broke for hiatus, Whiskas has gained an MA in music production at Leeds Metropolitan University and has been honing his skills in the recording studio. Working with artist such as - Johnny Foreigner, You Animals, Sam Airey, Blood Oranges and his own Honour Before Glory project. He has achieved great success on radio and in the media with all projects.
With his A&R and touring experience, alongside recent mentoring and teaching, Whiskas likes to get involved in a project as much as possible, and most of his work can be found through his website.
Jeff T Smith (Guest - £225 per day)
Jeff came to Loom Studios this year after finishing his masters degree in Music Technology and Computer Music at the University of Leeds. In his hometown of Chicago, he completed internships at Electrical Audio and Engine Music Studios, working alongside recording engineers such as Steve Albini and Brian Deck. Over the past decade, his repertoire of self-recorded material, and recordings of other bands has grown alongside his detailed knowledge of both analog and digital recording techniques. His reputation for sonic wizardry has recently extended to the stage, where he has gained notoriety for his solo performances under the name 'Juffage'. He has also performed multichannel ambisonic works, and has recently debuted a multichannel sonic art installation at Worksetting Gallery as part of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. Jeff has also recently been working with Leeds based band RUNNERS tipped for big things this year. Jeff is also well versed in ProTools HD, Max/MSP, tube amplifier design, and how to live as cheaply as possible.
